GET ON THE WAITLIST FOR THE ANCHOR AND FLOW 6 WEEK PROGRAM

I BELIEVE
that we are all artists and some of us have just forgotten along the way.

Are you curious about rediscovering the fullness of who you are through art?

Whether it’s trauma, grief, or the stress of juggling life’s responsibilities, most of us go through life challenges.

It’s common to respond by focusing on the essentials: going to work, paying the bills, feeding the kids…

and to put walls up around the deeper parts of yourself to survive.
• your creativity
• your heart
• your purpose
• your sense of joy…

can suddenly feel out of reach and behind that wall. Life can start to feel empty.

You might desire something more for yourself now but don’t know how to access it.

You’re not alone. I’ve been there too.

At the tender age of 21, I was called to find a path to healing with very little knowledge of how to do it.

I was suddenly flooded with memories of childhood trauma, which explained why, until that point, I had always struggled with my health and connection to myself.

Searching for a way to heal and transform my trauma, I diligently wrote in a journal and sought talk therapy. Though I am grateful for these things, nothing really changed, except for finally being able to speak my truth.

About a decade later, on a whim, I took a class called “journaling with images.” It changed my life forever.

Not only did this class spark a 30-year love affair with creativity…

but it also began to heal my trauma in a more profound way than I had ever experienced

For a while, I didn’t know why this practice was so powerful. It was like magic!

Then I decided to pursue my Masters in Clinical Psychology and started to understand more about the science of why it is so transformative.

What I know now is that when we go through any trauma, grief, stress or life challenges our nervous system can become dysregulated.

Making art can regulate our emotions, creating a calming effect. That might be the first benefit you experience. But it goes so much deeper than that!

Art-making also gently dissolves our protective armor so we can access and unlock the parts of ourselves we haven’t been able to see for a long time.

The parts of us that make us feel alive and ourselves again. This creates a pathway to healing and also to our brilliance and creative genius.

More recently, when I was recovering from a concussion in 2021, art saved me.

I could not drive.
I could not focus on anything.
I could not work.
I could not read.

Anything I tried to do would send me into vertigo.

I literally sat on my couch for months because I couldn’t do much until I spied my art supplies.

I got up and tentatively started playing around. It soon became a daily necessity and it started taking over my entire apartment!

Here are a few ways making art helped me:

HEALING

It helped heal neural pathways in my brain to do creative work. I was able to focus again and didn’t feel so disoriented anymore.

PURPOSE

It helped me with the stress of not being able to function in life and was a way to reconnect to my heart and find some purpose.

GROUNDING

It really settled my nervous system and brought me back to the belief that I didn’t have to do anything to prove that I was worthy.

I want you to know that…

• I understand what it feels like to be scared, vulnerable, and a beginner. If you are a beginner you are SO welcome here!

• I know what it is like to feel like more is possible for you and something’s missing. You know you are powerful and have something to offer but you just can’t access it.

• I have a deep understanding of what it means to heal from trauma and expand into my own true and unique creative expression. I can offer you deep empathy and understanding.
